Burnpot cleaning ExtraFlame

To clean the burn pot of an Austropell pellet stove, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the stove: Before starting any cleaning process, ensure that the pellet stove is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet to prevent any accidents.

  2. Allow the stove to cool: Wait for the stove to cool down before starting the cleaning process. It's best to wait at least 30 minutes or until the stove is cool to the touch.

  3. Remove the burn pot: Open the door of the pellet stove and carefully remove the burn pot from the stove. The burn pot is usually located at the bottom of the stove.

  4. Clean the burn pot: Use a soft-bristled brush or a scraper to remove any ash or debris from the burn pot. Be careful not to damage the surface of the burn pot.

  5. Vacuum the burn pot: Use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment to remove any remaining debris or ash from the burn pot. Make sure to clean the ash trap and any other areas where ash may have accumulated.

  6. Reinstall the burn pot: Once the burn pot is clean, carefully reinstall it back into the pellet stove. Make sure that it is properly aligned and seated.

  7. Dispose of the ashes: Carefully dispose of the ash and debris from the burn pot in a metal container with a tight-fitting lid. Ashes can remain hot for several hours and can start a fire if not properly disposed of.

By following these steps, you can safely and effectively clean the burn pot of your Austropell pellet stove, helping to ensure that it operates efficiently and safely.
